GSXR 7/11 – Slabside. 1986
This is a bike built to compete in classic racing or Thunderbike racing. Due to a change of direction I am selling it to help fund a new project.
The bike was originally registered in the UK, then exported to Portugal, if you want to put it back on the road it will need re-registering.
Specification:-
Chassis:
Frame – The frame has been double braced along the top frame rails and heavily braced around the headstock and swinging arm pivot. Legendary bike builder Alf Mossell has done the bracing to the same spec as AMA Yoshimura bikes.
The swinging arm is underbraced using Suzuki tubing, the bike comes with a spare standard swinging arm.
Forks – the forks are reconditioned GSXR 750 Slingshot 43mm units
Shock – Brand New Nitron shock
Ohlins Steering Damper
Wheels – Marchesini 3 spoke magnesium period correct, 3.5x17 front 6x17 rear.
Brakes – Brand new Custom made 320 discs by ABE – also brand new rear disc, reconditioned Nissin callipers – all pads brand new, new braded hoses, Triumph, radial front master cylinder.
New 520 Chain and sprockets
Engine:
Standard 1127 engine, runs fine with no rattles – (NB this engine is fitted to comply with Thunderbike Extreme rules which limit the engine output to 130bhp)
Mikuni 30mm Flatslides (Brand New) – could do with re jetting, needs an hour on the dyno, loads of top end but a bit lumpy at mid range. 75mm velocity stacks
New Yoshimura Cyclone Titanium exhaust pipe
New wiring loom, and electrics
Dynatech adjustable ignition system
Radial Clutch master cylinder – very light clutch
Venhill quick action throttle
Brand new battery
Bodywork:
All standard panels with Yoshimura shark gills fitted, removable oil pan fitted. No lights fitted except for a rain light.
Paint, the paint is rattle can race quality, looks good from the trackside, will need repainting if you want a show bike.
Tons of other bits and pieces, which I can’t remember now, the bike was prepared to race this season but we changed plans and have been racing an R6 in BSB Superstock this season, resulting in this bike sitting under a cover in the workshop. Worth coming and taking a look.
